I would suggest an upgrade to the buffalo Terrastation Pro II wich supports a robust array of features. I noticed that you are currently using a buffalo terra station 1 TB home model. The Japanese focus on value added quality products is always a big plus whenever designing, buying, or building a robust system. Buffalo makes some excellent products and they are probably best known for their high performance high quality memory modules. However, I do agree with your choice of brands.
I certainly understand how having a redundant array of independant drives that require a tme consuming swap could be a disadvantage to a busy man like yourself.
